Qualifications of the Appraiser

Earle V. "Buddy" Almy Jr. CREA, ALC, CRB, GRI
Texas State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser TX #1323010-G

Presently, I am accepting assignments as Earle V. "Buddy" Almy, Jr. d/b/a Almy & Company - Realtors, with my office at 7430 Fall Creek Hwy., P.O. Box 129, near Granbury, Texas.

On May 26, 1952, I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Husbandry from Texas Tech University. After serving for four years in the United States Air Force (Veterinary Service), I was employed by the First National Bank of Fort Worth (now Nations Bank - Texas - Ft. Worth office) on September 1, 1956. I spent about three years in their installment loan department, two years in their loan and discount department and one year in their credit analysis department. During this period, I received a Graduate Certificate in Commercial Banking from the American Institute of Banking (equivalent of a Master's Degree for me) in Ft. Worth, Texas.

After leaving the bank in May of 1962, I spent approximately five and one-half years in the livestock and poultry business with Burrus Feed Mill (now Central Soya) covering territories in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. I held the position of Director of Finance and Poultry Feed Sales.

On June 2, 1959, I received my Texas Real Estate Salesman's License and began working part time for Yager & Co., 550 Bailey, Suite 360, Ft. Worth, Texas. On February 1, 1970, I received my Texas Real Estate Broker's License and founded Almy & Company - Realtors in Hurst, Texas. It has always been a sole proprietorship. In 1979, I moved Almy & Co. - Realtors to Granbury, Texas. The majority of my real estate experience has been selling and appraising farm and ranch properties but ( have also sold and appraised homes, commercial, industrial, development, investment and income producing properties.

In 1971, I was awarded the "GRI" designation (Graduate of Realtors Institute), after completing Courses I, II and III in various cities over Texas.

On February 13, 1974, I was awarded the designation "ALC" (was AFLB) after completing "Principals of Land Use & Development" in Chicago on August 24, 1973 and Land Development Course in St. Louis on December 7, 1973. ALC stands for "Accredited Land Consultant".

On May 2, 1977, I was awarded the designation "CRB" (Certified Residential Broker and/or Certified real Estate Brokerage Manager) after completing Real Estate Office Management in Ft. Worth on March 4, 1971, Obtaining, Training and Retaining Sale Associates in Houston on April 15,1971, Greater Profits Through Expansion, Horizontal and Vertical in Chicago on November 2, 1972 and Leadership and Communication in Management in Houston on December 13,1973.

On July 24, 1986, I was awarded the designation "CREA" (Certified Real Estate Appraiser) by the National Association of Real Estate Appraisers because of my previous education from the Society of Real Estate Appraisers and experience of appraising properties since 1959. With SREA , I completed the 101 course - An Introduction to Appraising Real Property in Norman, Oklahoma, on May 26,1972, the 201 course-Principles of Income Property Appraising on May 15, 1974 and the Narrative Report Writing Seminar in Ft. Worth on January 7, 1972. I had been working on a "SPRA" designation (Senior Real Property Appraiser) but I never had the time or money to do the "Demonstration Appraisal" on an income producing property as one would have to take off the three months and do nothing else. Since the Fall Semester of 1986, I have been teaching Real Estate #351 - Rural Real Estate Appraisal on a part time basis for Weatherford College in Weatherford, Texas and the text that I used was the "Rural Appraisal" book written by the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers (MAI), a branch of the National Association of Realtors. I have not taught this course for several years now. On May 15th, 1992, I received a designation as Texas State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser. My license number is: TX-1323010-G

I was working on a "CCIM" (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation in 1972 and completed the following courses: CID I - Principles of Commercial Property ion San Antonio on March 17, 1972, CID II - Principles of Investment Property, Exchange and Taxation in Austin, Texas on September 1972 and CED IV - Fundamentals of Investment Real Estate Development for Users in Atlanta, Georgia on December 9, 1972, I also completed the three demonstration reports that were required. I did not receive the designation as I was not able to attend a New Orleans, La. meeting in order to take a final examination.

On April 29, 1972, I completed a course - Practical Methods for Successful Management by the Institute of Real Estate management in Miami Beach, Florida. It was their Course #1.

In 1972, I completed a course - "Modern Marketing Analysis & Real Estate Projections" by the American Society of Real Estate Counselors. it was a twelve week statistics course taught in one day. The course taught one how to value real estate from a statistical standpoint.

In 1970, I joined the Northeast Tarrant County Board of Realtors and while I was in this board, I was elected to 2nd Vice President, 1st Vice President and Director of this board. I joined the Granbury Board of Realtors in 1979 and was the Multiple Listing Service Chairman for the years 1980, 1981 and 1982. In the past, I was a member of the Dallas Board of Realtors, the Stephenville Board of Realtors and the Weatherford Board of Realtors.
